PHYSIOKINETIX MANUAL THERAPY – “N.A.R.K.” For The Head, Neck & Jaw

This comprehensive workshop dives into the complex interaction between posture, movement dysfunction, and neurological influences. Assess and address the effects of Forward Head Posture (FHP) on posture, muscle function, and pain of your clients  through the principles of Neuro Articular Regenerative Kinetics (N.A.R.K.).

Achievable Goals:

  • • Assess the impact of Forward Head Posture (FHP) on anterior and posterior muscle function, and its association with Upper Cross Syndrome.
  • • Investigate the role of serotonergic pathways in pain mediation and explore how FHP influences autonomic regulation.
  • • Understand how compensatory postural patterns develop both ipsilaterally and contralaterally.
  • • Develop effective strategies to restore proper joint mobility, muscle tone, and address movement dysfunctions using neuroplasticity principles.
  • • Apply Neuro Articular Regenerative Kinetics (N.A.R.K.) to correct dysfunctional movement patterns, enhance joint function, and retrain neuromuscular connections for improved posture and pain-free movement.

Learning Objectives:

    • • Define: The physiological barriers to movement, including the difference between restrictive and elastic barriers.
    • • Assess: How FHP and its related syndromes (Upper Cross and Lower Cross) impact postural alignment, muscle tightness, and joint function.
    • • Release: Learn techniques for releasing muscle tightness in common problem areas, including the pectorals, SCM, and traps.
    • • Reeducate: Focus on restoring normal muscle function and tonicity through postural correction exercises and movement retraining.
    • • Motivate/Movement Plan: Develop personalized treatment plans using concepts from Neuro Articular Regenerative Kinetics (N.A.R.K.) and postural restoration.

Contents:

Essential knowledge:
• Forward Head Posture (FHP) and its effect on anterior and posterior muscles.
• The role of the craniovertebral junction (CVJ) in postural control and muscle tone.
• The relationship between FHP and Upper Cross Syndrome.
• The impact of joint dysfunction, including articular cartilage degradation and arthritis, on posture.

Medial knowledge:
• Mechanisms of pain mediation through the serotonergic pathways.
• Inert tissues and their role in movement dysfunction, including ligaments, joint capsules, and cartilage.
• How spinal mechanics and muscle tightness influence postural alignment.
• The relationship between muscle tone, muscle fiber type, and force production as we age.

Additional knowledge:
• The concept of compensatory patterns (ipsilateral and contralateral) and their impact on posture.
• How spinal restrictions (like C1-C2, C2-C3 dysfunction) affect the neck, shoulders, and movement patterns.
• The role of the cerebellum in regulating muscle tone and the implications for clients with right motor dominant patterns.

Get:

  • lifetime access to the 2 day recording of this 2022 workshop.
  • lifetime access to the techniques booklet (viewable but not downloadable)
