Scott is the first therapist in Georgia to become Physiokinetix: Mobility Certified!
“I have been fortunate in my journey with bodywork over the last 13+ years to find access and learn from some of the best educators in the field.
My introduction to massage was at the Ben Benjamin Massage Therapy Institute in Boston, where I studied for 2 years before accepting a massage therapy position at a local physical therapy office. After moving to Atlanta in 2013, though, I struggled with the idea of working for myself and being my own therapist, so I began looking for ways to improve my practice and build my skillset.
Since then, I have gotten my Master level certification in Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy, elected to get board certified by the NCBTMB, and have started schooling to attain a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Therapy. Since integrating PKT brain and body based movement therapy into my practice, clients have loved the transition off the table and into gravity where the next level of therapy can begin.” – Scott O.

“My journey into Physiokinetix Therapy began in the Cayman Islands, where I was involved with the local rugby club. After each game, I treated injuries using eccentrically loaded stretching and low-level laser treatments. I later added massage therapy into the mix after completing an online massage course, which I incorporated into post-game and training sessions.
Upon returning to the U.S. and opening a bed and breakfast in Blue Ridge, GA, I was fortunate to find a nearby massage school where I earned my license to practice in Georgia. This allowed me to offer massage services to my bed and breakfast guests, and eventually, I also began working at a local spa. After selling my home and business, I relocated to Marietta, GA, and opened my own practice, Elite Massage & Laser Therapy.
From the start, I’ve been passionate about therapeutic massage, and the school I attended aligned perfectly with my interests. As part of my continuing education, I’ve focused on medical massage, constantly seeking to expand my skills. When I first attended a Physiokinetix Therapy workshop, I anticipated learning new techniques. Instead, my perspective broadened dramatically, helping me understand how the brain, muscles, and joints work together to facilitate true healing.
In my first Physiokinetix class, I learned how to relieve pain caused by muscle and joint tightness through both massage table techniques and simple movement exercises. These exercises are easy to teach and empower clients to continue their care at home, optimizing the benefits of their initial treatment.
Incredibly, many of my clients have experienced significant pain relief in a short period—especially when they commit to their self-care routines at home.”

“My interest and passion for helping people overcome discomfort, pain, and injury led me to become a Physical Therapist and enroll in Physical Therapy school at the University Hospital Eppendorf in Hamburg, Germany. Before moving to the USA in 1999, I worked for several years as a PT in my native country.
When my German PT license wasn’t recognized by the Georgia Board of Physical Therapy, I transitioned to becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist.
Since then, I have enjoyed studying and becoming certified in various massage and bodywork modalities, including:
- Myofascial Alignment and Somato-Emotional Release with John Barnes
- Craniosacral Therapy with John Upledger
- Synergistic Myofascial Therapy with Magnus Eklund
- Myoskeletal Alignment with Erik Dalton
- Physiokinetix Training with Paul Kelly
Paul Kelly’s Physiokinetix model resonates deeply with me. It provides an excellent framework for helping clients regain muscular balance and strength by addressing weak strain patterns and restoring proper neurophysiological function. By combining hands-on techniques with functional movement and exercises, we can systematically guide clients to understand and adopt better posture and movement patterns, empowering them to take charge of their well-being.
The systematic outline of functional exercises perfectly complements my passion for helping clients feel well again, preventing pain and injury in the future, and enabling them to actively participate in their healing journey.”
